Woven geotextiles are primarily used for ground stabilization and separation. They generally offer a higher strength-to-weight ratio when compared to nonwoven needle-punched geotextiles, but typically maintain slower drainage properties due to their smaller pore sizes. Woven geotextiles are therefore less likely to be applied in applications that require high filtration and drainage requirements.
