AmeriPro manufactures a full line of civil and environmental nonwoven geotextiles in our Hazlehurst Georgia facility with weights up to 32 oz/sy. These products are most commonly specified for filtration, separation, and environmental applications and are comprised of needle-punched staple fibers. We also have continuous filament needling capabilities.
Another type of nonwoven geotextile we manufacture is spunbond. Extruded filaments are spun onto a sheet or belt and thermally bonded. This results in a product that is smoother and stiffer with increased strength and reduced pore size.
Nonwoven filtration geotextiles are used to wrap drain pipes and/or enclose stone drains. The result is a more efficient and long-lasting system that allows water to pass, through while filtering soil which effectively prevents clogging and failure of the system.
Nonwovens are commonly used in separation applications such as roads, highways, walkways, and more. They significantly reduce aggregate during construction, offering substantial cost savings per lane mile, while up to doubling the service life of roads by separating the aggregate base from the soil. High interface friction restrains and strengthens aggregate layers. High water flow rate and lateral transmissivity reduces pore water pressure under traffic loading. Nonwovens are also used in erosion control applications under rock Rip Rap
Environmental grade, or M.A.R.V. weight nonwovens are installed to cushion and protect impermeable liners in both public and private landfills.
